Author Guidelines

RILEM Technical Letters publishes short letters on invitation by the Editorial Board. If you are interested in submitting your new article to the journal, please first see the scope of the journal and the publication rules.

Before submission, please first send a cover letter by e-mail to the Editor-in-Chief. Please include: title, list of authors, a short abstract (200 words) and a list of 5 most recent references dealing with the topic.

If the article is invited, you will receive your author credentials from the Managing Editor. At this point, please proceed with online submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published* (whole or in parts), nor is under submission with another journal. *Exception: PhD or Master thesis.
  • The corresponding author is indicated, the names and affiliations and the e-mails of all authors are given.
  • All funding agencies are listed in the Acknowledgements section. If available, numbers of corresponding grants are given.
  • No conflict of interest exists, or if it does, it is clearly stated in the dedicated section in the article.
  • No figures/pictures/tables or parts of text reproduced or copied from other publications (including publications by the authors) are included in the manuscript.
  • The manuscript is formatted according to the guidelines (in particular references).

Users by registering to this journal as readers, authors or reviewers, agree on receiving e-mail updates on the new published items and important announcements. The personal data and e-mail addresses entered during registration will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will be not distributed to any other parties without the explicit permission of the user. The registered users can review, edit or remove their data at any time by logging to their user profile or by contacting the managing editor of the journal.
